The Internal Audit and Investigations Group (IAIG) receives allegations of misconduct and is responsible for investigating reports of alleged misconduct involving UNOPS personnel or other persons, parties or entities that have a contractual relationship with UNOPS.
IAIG is the only office in UNOPS mandated to conduct investigations.
IAIG receives and investigates allegations of fraud and financial irregularities, forgery, theft, misuse of resources, conflicts of interest, sexual harassment, assault including sexual assault, sexual exploitation and abuse, and violations of local laws.
Reports about harassment and abuse of authority are first reviewed by the Workplace Conduct Team. If they assess that the case might constitute misconduct, they will forward it to IAIG for investigation. Similarly, when the Ethics Office conducts a preliminary review of retaliation allegations and determines that the facts could perhaps constitute retaliation, IAIG will be required to investigate these retaliation allegations.
