Internal Audit and Investigations Group

Internal Audit and Investigations Group (IAIG) is the principal channel for receiving allegations of misconduct.

What do we do?

The Internal Audit and Investigations Group (IAIG) receives allegations of misconduct and is responsible for investigating reports of alleged misconduct involving UNOPS personnel or other persons, parties or entities that have a contractual relationship with UNOPS. 

IAIG is the only office in UNOPS mandated to conduct investigations. 

IAIG receives and investigates allegations of fraud and financial irregularities, harassment, abuse of authority and discrimination, forgery, theft, misuse of resources, conflicts of interest, sexual harassment, assault including sexual assault, sexual exploitation and abuse, and violations of local laws. 

When the Ethics Office conducts a preliminary review of retaliation allegations and determines that the facts could perhaps constitute retaliation, IAIG will be required to investigate these retaliation allegations.

Investigation process

Receive report

Report of alleged misconduct received by IAIG.

Review report

IAIG reviews if report is to be investigated.

Investigation

IAIG investigates (interviews witnesses, reviews forensic evidence, etc).

Issue report

IAIG issues report of findings to Legal Group.

Determination

Legal Group determines if misconduct occurred.
